Amateur cook and B.C. native Maureen Evans has written the world's first Twitter cookbook Eat Tweet , a collection of 1,020 tweeted recipes she's amassed on her account.

For those unfamiliar with the social networking site's lingo, it can be challenging to decipher her instructions, which are abbreviated to stay under Twitter's 140-character limit.

So to help translate Twitterese, Ms. Evans has provided a decoding primer on Huffington Post.

For example, her tweeted take on Italian cookbook queen Marcella Hazan's carbonara recipe reads: "Slice, fry c bacon; +T garlc. Simmr+1/4c wtwine. Beat 2 egg&yolk/1/2c parm. Toss+ lb aldentespagheti/bacon/1/2c parm/pep."

Decoded, that means: (1) Slice up 1 cup bacon, and fry to taste. (2) Next, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Bring to simmer with 1/4 cup of white wine. (3) Beat 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, and 1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. (4) Toss the egg mixture well with 1 pound of al dente spaghetti, the bacon mixture, another 1/2 cup of cheese, and ground black pepper to taste."

Now, how do you say "buon appetito" in Twitterese?
