Prince William and his fiancée Kate Middleton will visit Canada in July, their first trip abroad after their coming marriage in April, according to Britain's Sun newspaper.

The couple's two-week trip to Canada will reportedly begin on the East Coast and end in British Columbia.

While no announcements have been made by either the Canadian or British government, royal watchers in Canada have said this country would be an obvious choice for a first visit.

"Canada in particular holds a special place for the Royal Family. It's a country that's always provided them a warm welcome," Keith Roy of the Monarchist League of Canada said recently.

Prince William's last visit to Canada came in March of 1998, just months after his mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash.

According to The Sun, William is personally overseeing planning for the trip to make sure Ms. Middleton won't be overwhelmed.

"It is being viewed as a major tour and the first chance people will have to judge if William has chosen his wife wisely," a source told the newspaper.
