The buy: The Fairmont Banff Springs, an iconic Canadian hotel, has a late-season four-night, four-day lift ticket ski special from $496 a person.
The savings: The fourth night and fourth day of skiing are free.
The catch: The offer expires on April 30.
Why it's worth it: The snow pack is two metres deep, meaning that there is great skiing at the area's three ski resorts – at Sunshine's Delirium Dive, the Back Bowls at the Lake Louise Ski Area and the North American at Mount Norquay.

The buy: Vision Airlines has a $49 (U.S.) each-way companion sale on flights from Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Fort Myers, Fla.
The savings: About half price.
The catch: You have to buy one ticket at the regular price before April 10 to get the $49 companion rate on the seasonal route out of Niagara Falls that ends May 1. Vision Airlines also charges to check luggage.
Why it's worth it: In addition to the low fare, both taxes and fees from the U.S. are far lower than in Canada. Extra fees for this deal include airport taxes of up to $33.

London for the weekend
The buy: Park Plaza hotels in Britain are offering weekend getaway deals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights starting from $92 (£59) a night in Leeds, $101 (£65) in Nottingham and $138 (£89) in London.
The savings: About $109 (£70) compared with normal weekday rates.
The catch: This deal is available until May 31.
Why it's worth it: The Canadian dollar hasn't been this strong against the pound in years, making these rates in London even more attractive.

Free spending money
The buy: Palace Resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic are giving guests spending money.
The savings: $1,500 a room for those staying five nights and up to $2,500 a room for those staying 12 nights or more.

Why it's worth it: The credits can be used on room upgrades and for amenities throughout the resort.
