January is National Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month in the U.S. and Whiteface, near Lake Placid, NY, is one of a number of resorts offering discounts and specials on lessons, rentals and lift tickets.
During the month, Whiteface offers a midweek special for $59 (U.S.) and that includes lessons, rentals and a lower-mountain lift ticket. Lessons begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are available for skiers and riders 13 and older.
