Inside the Panorama Lounge of the Silver Whisper cruise ship.

Travel news from around the globe.

What is believed to be the world's most expensive cruise is on sale in Britain. Costing about $1.6-million a couple for 124 days, the expedition begins with a helicopter flight to a London airport. Next comes a flight to Los Angeles by private jet with a Michelin-starred chef on board. Then begins the cruise itself. Accommodation is in the Royal Suite aboard the Silver Whisper. Stops are made in 28 countries, including French Polynesia, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Maldives and Mauritius.

In the seas

Romance on the Love Boat may soon be between cougars and cubs – women of a certain age and the young men they pursue. The 40-year-old cruise ship, which was featured on a long-running TV series, is in financial trouble. So Toronto-based CougarLife.com founder Claudia Opdenkelder has made a $3.5-million (U.S.) offer to buy the Pacific Princess. Should she succeed, each cruise would feature celebrity guests. Topping Opdenkelder's wish list are Madonna and J.Lo.

In the museum

There's no need to dress up for evening tours being offered in late April at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art. Participants will be nude, as will the guide, artist Stuart Ringholt. The bare-it-all affairs coincide with a Ringholt exhibition. According to the show's curator, "It'll take place after hours so it's completely private and closed to the public, with 50 people in each group, led by Stuart, and it's about engaging people in this heightened state of vulnerability and awareness."
