The buy: G Adventures is offering a special discount on select departures of the nine-day Amazon Riverboat Adventure.

The savings: 40 per cent off the land-only price of $2,449 for all bookings plus a $400 air credit on flights to Lima when air and land are booked by a travel agent.

The catch: You have to travel by Aug. 31.

DELIGHT IN DOMINICA

The buy: Eco-boutique Rosalie Bay Resort on the Caribbean island of Dominica is offering summer savings during peak sea turtle nesting season.

The savings: 40 per cent off stays of two nights or more. Stay five or more nights and also receive free round-trip airport transfers.

The catch: You have to book by July 31 and travel by Sept. 15.

Why it's worth it: With the discount, daily rates begin at $150 for two, including breakfast, at a time when three species of endangered sea turtles come ashore to lay eggs on the resort's protected black sand beach and where hatchlings (eventually) scurry into the sea. The island also has hiking trails, scuba diving, whale watching and snorkelling.

SAIL IN STYLE

The buy: Cunard Line has dropped the price of balcony staterooms.

The savings: You snag a balcony and its view for the price of an inside stateroom.

The catch: You have to book by July 31.

Why it's worth it: The upgrade is available on select voyages into and out of New York, including 2013 Transatlantic Crossings, World Voyage segments and sailings to Canada and through Scandinavia on board Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth. An eastbound weeklong Transatlantic Crossing, for example, from New York to Southampton aboard flagship Queen Mary 2, July 27, now sells from $799.

NEW LOYALTY PROGRAM

The buy: Scenic Tours is launching The Scenic Club Loyalty Program in the North American market next year for those booking its European river cruises.

The savings: The program offers different levels of membership with rewards coming after the first trip with ScenicClub Gold status and member-only savings of $100; Platinum level adds free limousine transfers before and after the trip and complimentary pre or post-trip nights. The Diamond level includes a $100 retail gift card or a full-size Club Diamond suitcase and Diamond-level member events.

The catch: The program doesn't launch until next year, but the line is tracking past trips and they will be included.

Why it's worth it: Scenic Tours will have the newest fleet on the rivers, with no ship older than six years. The ships offer balconies that convert to an enclosed lounge.
