One captivating image a day, the reason it was chosen and how you can shoot similar pictures.
Photo tip for May 23: This picture is all about the moment. The boy doing a flip as the four other people seem to take no notice is a great slice of time. Being patient and waiting around for just the right moment could pay off with an amzing image.
Photo tip for May 22: The two people framed in the centre pop off the hazy city in the background. If you have a busy background and need to seperate your separate try using a small depth of field.
Photo tip for May 21: The body language of the men is what makes this image. Look for groups of people that help tell a story or create an interesting dynamic.
Photo tip for May 18: Kevin van der Leek’s daughter was exploring the shore on Mayne Island, B.C., when he captured this photo. It was selected as the best submission on the theme of summer retreats. Why we chose it: A really nice moment with the shallow depth of field bringing the readers eye straight to the girl rock hopping in the soft light.
