Globe and Mail Update

Flashpoint (CTV, 10 p.m.) is about a man who served 12 years in prison for the murder of his teenage sweetheart – a murder he didn't commit. When his lawyer tells him that the prosecutor held back evidence, he wants justice and revenge. He takes a young woman hostage at a courthouse and the strategic response unit must respond. This is one of the great Canadian themes – anger, rage and disgrace over the wrongfully convicted, who are a special kind of victim.

The Office (NBC, 9 p.m.) is part of a comedy package on NBC. There are two consecutive episodes from the end of last season, then an episode of 30 Rock (10 p.m.) followed by another Office episode. If you need a laugh, there you go.
John Doyle

The Arrangement (Vision, 9 p.m.) Like Mad Men's Don Draper, successful ad exec Eddie Anderson has it all, and questions it all. Elia Kazan (On the Waterfront) directs the 1969 drama he adapted from his bestselling novel. Kirk Douglas stars as Eddie, with Faye Dunaway as his mistress and Deborah Kerr as his wife.

That's Amore: The Italian-American Favorites (PBS, 9:30 p.m.) Airing on some PBS stations, Danny Aiello hosts this 90-minute collection of footage from the fifties and sixties of classic Italian-flavoured pop tunes performed by much loved crooners like Dean Martin, Perry Como, Eddie Fisher, Jerry Vale and Frankie Lane.

Keeping Score: Beethoven's Eroica (PBS, 10 p.m.) Other PBS stations feature music of an entirely different sort. Beethoven's milestone symphony gets the once-over from San Francisco Symphony conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, who guides viewers to its groundbreaking qualities and enduring appeal.
