Million Dollar Password

CBS, A, 8 p.m. ET

William Shatner and Aisha Tyler ( Ghost Whisperer) are the first two celebrity guests as the second season of Million Dollar Password premieres tonight. The game show settles into its regular Sunday timeslot beginning this weekend when The Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan and Big Brother host Julie Chen take their guest turns. Celeb visits to look forward to: original Password veteran Betty White (Dec. 28) and Canadian funny man Norm Macdonald (Jan. 11).

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

AMC, 8 p.m. ET

Gene Wilder stars in this musical fantasy, adapted from Roald Dahl's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's a Grimm-like fairy tale serving of just desserts that's scrumdiddlyumptious.

The National: At Issue Year in Review

CBC, 10 p.m. ET

Pollster Allan Gregg, Maclean's national news editor Andrew Coyne, The Globe and Mail's op-ed columnist Rex Murphy and Toronto Star national-affairs columnist Chantal Hébert join Peter Mansbridge for a look back at an extraordinary year of political and economic turmoil. At Issue Year in Review also airs on Newsworld at 9 p.m. and repeats at 11 p.m.
