Jonathan Lethem's Classic City

John Barber

From Monday's Globe and Mail

Hailed by some as a "stoner classic" and denounced by others as "bloated" and "broken," Jonathan Lethem's controversial new novel Chronic City gets a thorough airing by the author himself this Wednesday at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. The author of Motherless Brooklyn uses giant burrowing tigers and heavy garlands of marijuana smoke to spice a bizarre tale of manic Manhattan. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Terrace.
