Eleven books land on B.C. non-fiction prize long list

Memoirs and books about iconic figures - from J.S. Bach to William Randolph Hearst - are among the works long-listed for the BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction. The memoirs Burmese Lessons: A Love Story by Karen Connelly; Not Yet: A Memoir of Living and Almost Dying by Wayson Choy; Small Beneath the Sky: A Prairie Memoir by Lorna Crozier; and The Boy in the Moon: A Father's Search for His Disabled Son by Globe and Mail journalist Ian Brown were named to the long list yesterday.

The short list for the $40,000 prize will be announced in December, with the award presented in January. . Staff
