Singer Jennifer Hudson attends the 2009 Angel Ball benefiting The Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for cancer research, in New York, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.

Of her 10 American Idol performances in 2004, two were Franklin covers, Share Your Love With Me and Baby, I Love You . The big-voiced dream girl shares a stateliness with Franklin, who is an emotional but never overwrought vocalist. When people talked a couple of years ago about a Franklin biopic, the singer-actress Hudson was getting the most votes when it came to playing the lead. No surprise there.
