The Seed Savers, opening Oct. 29, at Edmonton's Workshop West. Thirty-seven years after the success of The Farm Show , Canadian theatre artists are still looking to the family farm for inspiration – but a whole new crop of problems has grown up around working the land since 1972. Here, Mindy and Joe reap a heap of trouble when genetically-modified canola seed gets into their fields either by wind or subterfuge. The play riffs off the famous battle between Saskatchewan farmer Percy Schmeiser and the agrochemical giant Monsanto.
