Best selling Canadian author Yann Martel has finally taken the wraps off his highly anticipated next novel. Sold at auction this summer for a reported $3-million, the new novel is titled Beatrice and Virgil and will appear April 6 in Canada, leading off publication around the world, according to Knopf Canada. Although details of the new novel are scant, Knopf editor Diane Martin promised that “Yann Martel’s fiction is always ambitious, always fascinating, always a great pleasure to discover and re-discover.”
