British Columbia's premier, who won re-election two weeks ago, will announce her new cabinet on June 7.

Premier Christy Clark's Liberals won a renewed majority government in the May 14 election, despite predictions that an NDP win was almost guaranteed.

Ida Chong, who was the minister of aboriginal relations and reconciliation, lost her Vancouver Island riding of Oak Bay-Gordon Head to Green party candidate Andrew Weaver.

Margaret MacDiarmid, who was health minister, was defeated in the riding of Vancouver-Fairview.

And former jobs minister Pat Bell did not run again in his riding of Prince George-Mackenzie, citing health reasons.

A news release says the new cabinet will be announced June 7 and officially sworn in Victoria on June 10.
