Globe B.C. has joined forces with Scout Magazine to give you the best of what's happening in Vancouver this weekend. For a full week's worth of listings, head over to the complete Scout List, updated each Monday. See the list in calendar view here.

Malkin Bowl: An outdoor concert at Malkin Bowl has got to be one of the sweetest opportunities going in summer. This Friday night, you can catch The Sheepdogs (with guests Imaginary Cities and The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer). The Sheepdogs (from Saskatoon) won Rolling Stone magazine's Choose The Cover competition in 2011 – chances are good they will put on a solid show. Gates open at 5:30 for general admission seating on the lawn, arrive a little early to claim your place. Friday, Aug. 30, 6:30 p.m., Malkin Bowl, malkinbowl.com

Art: Hot Art Wet City Gallery is showing Process Colour, an exhibition of works by local comic creators. It shows – through various stages of sketches to finished product – the path that each of the four participating artists follows in taking a concept from an idea to a completed comic. The exhibition ends this Friday with a talk and book launch (Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant) by artist Tony Cliff. Friday, Aug. 30, Hot Art Wet City Gallery (2206 Main St.). hotartwetcity.com

Relax: Make some time to attend the last Enchanted Evenings outdoor summer concert at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden this week. Scoot down to the serene oasis of swaying bamboo and lily-pad-strewn ponds to listen to the "smoky, soulful blues" of musician Jim Byrnes. For a full Friday night experience, take a wander through the Chinatown Night Market after the concert and then stop in at The Keefer for a cocktail. Friday, Aug. 30, 7:30 p.m. (578 Carrall St.). vancouverchinesegarden.com

Score: Don't miss out on the Strathcona Garage Sale this weekend. This is no piddly little gig with headless barbies and VHS tapes. This garage sale will be big and full of good stuff. Expect everything from vintage clothing, furniture and vinyl to books, bikes and pottery. The sale will take place mostly on Hawks Avenue, focusing on the 700 and 800 blocks. It will also extend westward along the park side of the 700-block of East Georgia Street. Pro tip: Hit the Wilder Snail for coffee and kick back in MacLean Park afterward. Saturday, Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hawks Ave., Strathcona. strathcona-residents.org

Laugh: Comedian Doug Stanhope will do a stand-up set at the Rickshaw on Saturday night. Mr. Stanhope is known for being abrasive, brutally honest, vulgar and frequently offensive, so don't bring Grandma along unless she's of a similar stripe. If you and your thick skin are looking for a good solid giggle, grab a seat. Saturday, Aug. 31, Doors 8 p.m., The Rickshaw Theatre (254 E. Hastings St.). liveatrickshaw.com

Chow: Food Cart Fest goes down this Sunday. Take advantage of the fact that some 20 food trucks will be parked around communal tables ready to feed you. Expect Soho Road, Mom's Grilled Cheese, Mogu, Roaming Dragon, Vij's, Yolks and Tacofino – maybe even The Juice Truck. And the fun does not stop there. There will also be live music, a community market, and all manner of ancillary vendors making it the raddest bit of undeveloped real estate in the city. Food Cart Fest is between Olympic Village and Cambie Street Bridge. Sundays, June 23 to Sept. 22, 12 to 5 p.m. (215 West 1st Ave.). foodcartfest.com
