Man beaten to death during Hedley concert in B.C. Add to ...

Police in Dawson Creek, B.C., are investigating the Valentine’s Day beating death of a 28-year-old man at a concert.

RCMP Const. Lesley Smith says the victim was found unconscious by paramedics and security staff at the Encana Event Centre, where the band Hedley was performing.

Const. Smith says the man was assaulted when a fight broke out among five people and that he was chased into a washroom where the beating continued.

He died later in hospital.

A second man who was also assaulted suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Const. Smith says three suspects were arrested in a bar and remain in custody.
