The RCMP in Prince George have identified the victim in a homicide case as the father of one of three men charged earlier with second-degree murder.
In a statement released on Thursday, Cpl. Craig Douglass said Gordon Stanley Adolph Sr., 42, was the man whose remains police found last Friday.
Neighbours were shocked last week when police arrived on a quiet street in the central part of the city and put the home of long-time resident Sally Adolph behind crime tape.
On Wednesday, police announced charges against Gordon Stanley Adolph Jr., 23, Christopher Flanagan, 24, and a male under age 18 whose identity was withheld.
Mr. Adolph Jr. and the unnamed youth were charged with indignity to human remains in addition to second-degree murder.
Cpl. Douglass would not discuss what had happened to the body, but the charges indicate an attempt may have been made to destroy it.
"One of the charges against two of the persons is indignity to human remains. Certainly, there were things done to the body that complicate the investigation. That's as far as I can go," he said on Wednesday.
