Thirteen people – from Vernon, Prince George, Victoria and Metro Vancouver – will receive B.C.’s highest honour as they are appointed to the Order of British Columbia in a ceremony Monday.
The group is being honoured in a ceremony at Government House in Victoria, led by Lieutenant-Governor Judith Guichon and Premier Christy Clark.
Recipients include Vernon intensive care physician and hospital fundraiser Dr. Finley Armanious, former University of Northern B.C. president Charles Jago, Victoria-based astronomy researcher Gregory Fahlman and First Nations economic and community leader Wendy Grant-John of Vancouver.
Clark says each of the recipients has made a difference in their communities and to the province.
