RCMP have used a stun gun to subdue an 11-year-old boy after a stabbing in Prince George, B.C.
Police say they shocked the child, who was the suspect in the attack, after he emerged from a home.
The incident began when RCMP arrived at another home around 5:30 p.m. Thursday to investigate a 9-1-1 call reporting a stabbing.
They found a wounded 37-year-old man and he was rushed to hospital while officers searched for the young suspect.
Police found the boy next door and say he was taken into custody and transported to hospital for assessment after an officer deployed the conducted energy weapon.
West Vancouver Police have been called in to conduct an independent investigation, where they will review police response and actions surrounding the use of the stun gun.
The victim of the stabbing is in good condition in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while there is no word on the condition of the suspect.
