This week, during a conference on coastal ecosystems held on B.C.'s Central Coast, news came down that the federal government would approve the Northern Gateway bitumen pipeline from Alberta's oil sands to B.C.'s coast. Quickly, the attendees of the conference drafted a declaration addressed to B.C. Premier Christy Clark that expressed support for any opposition to Northern Gateway. Full story here.
