Circle Craft Christmas Market

Sorry to break it to you, but you've only got five weeks left before Christmas - just 10 weekend days - but no need to panic: You can get a jump on holiday shopping at the 37th annual Circle Craft Christmas Market.

Hip designer fashions and accessories, handmade toys and children's clothes, and beautifully crafted pottery, glass work and jewellery are just a few of the wares the 270 artisans will have on show at the market, which regularly draws more than 40,000 visitors.

Also on display are plenty of home accents, from hand-woven wool blankets to original paintings and photographs, as well as soaps, candles, beauty products, gourmet foods and tasty sweets for those on your list who love to indulge.

This year's market also features the Long House - an area where top aboriginal artists will sell paintings, carvings, jewellery and more - and exhibits by students from Emily Carr, Vancouver Community College and Capilano College.

Bringing a reluctant shopper along? While you do Santa's bidding, they can check out live dance and music, as well as demonstrations including glass-blowing, wood-turning and blacksmithing.

The Circle Craft Christmas Market runs through Sunday at the Vancouver Convention Centre. For tickets and information, go to circlecraft.net.
