A B.C. lumber company has signed a second major deal to ship wood to China.

Vernon-based Tolko Industries will supply spruce, pine and fir lumber to China National Building Materials, China's largest lumber distributor.

The latest agreement, along with a similar deal signed last November, means Tolko's entire production from the equivalent of two full mills will be shipped to China.

Tolko's Quesnel mill supplies most of the wood covered by the first deal, while several of the company's other B.C. operations will provide lumber for the latest agreement.

A provincial government release also says the two pacts will support 400 jobs in Tolko mills and woodlands.

The release says China is the fastest growing export market for Canadian wood products, with most of the lumber coming from B.C.
