The iconic Lions Gate Bridge was closed for more than six hours after a car collided with a bus, killing the driver and passenger of the smaller vehicle.
Police reopened the span at about 6 a.m Thursday following the accident just before midnight.
West Vancouver police say a northbound car went out of control and collided with the southbound West Vancouver bus.
The occupants of the car, both of them young men, died in hospital after being extracted from the vehicle.
The bus driver and three passengers among 15 occupants on the bus were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The transit service put on extra shuttles Thursday to deal with the backlog of passengers seeking service into Vancouver from West Vancouver.
