Vancouver's Via Rail station was closed briefly on Tuesday over concerns about unattended bags that turned out to contain camping gear, the city's police force said.
The police department announced the closure of Pacific Central Station on Tuesday afternoon, saying only that it was due to a "suspicious package."
A news release warned of travel delays at the station, which also serves as a stop for Greyhound buses and U.S.-bound Amtrak trains, and surrounding streets were closed.
More than two hours later, the police announced the situation had been resolved and the station would reopen.
The police department said on its Twitter account that the suspicious packages turned out to be bags containing camping gear.
The bags were X-rayed and contained a fuel source, the department said.
