Police released a photo of two rings and a silver bracelet the woman was wearing at the time of the attack, along with a jade bracelet. Anyone may know her is asked to call 911.

Vancouver police are appealing to the public for help in identifying one of the three women brutally attacked Friday morning.

The woman was assaulted in the 200-block of Columbia street at 9:30 a.m., said Constable Brian Montague. She suffered life-threatening injuries and police are urgently trying to identify her. The woman is Asian, in her 70s or 80s, five feet tall and 105 pounds (47 kilograms), Constable Montague said. Police released a photo of two rings and a silver bracelet she was wearing at the time of the attack, along with a jade bracelet. Anyone who may know her is asked to call 911.

Twenty minutes after she was attacked, a second woman was targeted, this time in the 700-block of Pacific Street. Minutes later, a third assault occurred across the street.

The third victim is also in "grave condition," Constable Montague said.

Vancouver police have a man in custody in connection with the assaults, but it is too early to determine a motive. Police believe the man did not know his victims and the women were not robbed, Constable Montague said.
