Canada's former spy watchdog, Arthur Porter, remains in a Panamanian prison but his wife is being extradited to Montreal to face criminal charges.
Authorities say that Pamela Porter, who was arrested on the same day as her husband, left a Panama jail on Thursday on a flight to Toronto.

Dr. Porter was also head of the McGill University Health Centre and is one of several people arrested in connection with that institution's construction project, one of the biggest in the country.
The Porters were arrested last month in Panama on an Interpol warrant.
Dr. Porter, who lives in the Bahamas, has been wanted for months in connection with Quebec's ongoing corruption scandals.
He was appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to head the Security Intelligence Review Committee, which monitors the work of Canada's spy agency CSIS.
Dr. Porter had said he's done nothing wrong.
