One of the Canadians injured in a Mexican bus crash this week has returned home.

Line Carrier's son says his mother is back in Quebec at an undisclosed hospital recovering from injuries she suffered after the bus was hit head-on by a tractor-trailer.

Her husband Robert Lacas was killed in the crash, but his body is still in Mexico.

A spokeswoman for the Mexican hospital treating fellow passenger Randolph Kowaleski says he remains in intensive care, but doctors are hopeful he will recover.

His son and daughter-in-law arrived in Mexico on Wednesday night to be with him.

Mr. Kowaleski's wife Carolyn and her cousin Marilyn Jackson died in the crash that claimed at least 11 lives, including several American tourists and the Mexican bus driver.

Kyra Duerta, a spokeswoman for Hospital de la Concepcion, says she doesn't know when the victims' bodies will be returning home, and that the Canadian Consulate is handling those details.

Karen and Jim Lait, a couple from Burlington, Ont., who were injured in the crash, are still recovering in another Mexican hospital.
