Regina teen sentenced as adult in Good Samaritan killing

A judge has sentenced a Saskatchewan teenager as an adult for killing a Good Samaritan.

The 18-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for seven years.

The teen was convicted of second-degree murder after stabbing Larry Moser on Boxing Day 2006 outside of a Regina convenience store.

Mr. Moser was trying to help a store clerk who was fighting with some teens over a bag of sunflower seeds.

The youth can't be named because he was 16 at the time of the slaying.

The judge said the youth exhibited anti-social criminal behaviour and only life-long state control of the teen will protect the public.
