Firefighters continue to battle 13 forest fires in northwestern Ontario, including one sparked by a train derailment.
Travis Moffat of the Ministry of Natural Resources says a derailment Wednesday night on the CN Rail Line started a fire near Savant Lake.
The train was not carrying any hazardous material, but fire crews had to wait about 30 minutes to be given the all-clear to attack the blaze.
The blaze is about 350 hectares in size and about five kilometres east of Savant Lake, which is about 50 kilometres east of Sioux Lookout.
Moffat says the fire is being pushed away from Savant Lake, but is expected to grow today due to high winds and dry conditions.
Meanwhile, fire crews are tackling 14 active fires in the northeastern part of the province.
