Federal Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion and Ontario Health Minister George Smitherman will be treated to a movie today in Toronto.
Both will join members of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario for a screening of the Michael Moore documentary Sicko.
The popular movie takes a critical look at U.S health care and includes comparisons to systems in other countries, including Canada.
Association president Mary Ferguson-Pare says if any politicians doubt the merits of the Canadian health system, “this film will bring a healthy dose of reality.”
Following the viewing at 3:30 p.m. ET, Mr. Dion and the nurses will hold a round-table discussion to talk about the health-care system.
Ms. Ferguson-Pare says nurses will remind politicians of what she says are the dangers of taking any steps toward an American-style health system.
