Canadian border officials say they’ve made two big seizures that amount to nearly 50 kilograms of what they suspect is cocaine.
The Canada Border Services Agency says on Sunday officers at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport discovered 17 bricks in an unclaimed suitcase on a flight from Curacao.
The bricks weighed 23 kilograms.
On Tuesday customs officers found another unclaimed suitcase on a flight from the Dominican Republic and discovered another 17 bricks, this time weighing in at 25 kilograms.
In both cases field tests suggest the substance is cocaine but the finding must still be confirmed through lab testing.
