Where have all the salmon gone?

Dr. Brian Riddell is the chief executive officer of the non-profit Pacific Salmon Foundation.

A former top scientist with DFO, he is leading the PSF in numerous projects aimed at restoring salmon stocks in B.C.

He joins us today to answer your questions about salmon.

The collapse of sockeye salmon runs in the Fraser River this summer, in which more than 10 million fish failed to return, have triggered alarms all along the British Columbia coast.

There are protest rallies in the streets, calls from First Nations for an international summit and from commercial fishermen for a judicial inquiry, and NDP opposition demands for an emergency debate in Parliament.

Everyone wants to know the same thing: What happened to our salmon?
