Toronto's newest office tower officially opened yesterday.
With 1.2-million square feet and 51 storeys, the Bay Adelaide Centre was developed by Brookfield Properties Corp. as an eco-friendly tower, earning a "gold" rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Mayor David Miller said the city needs such towers to maintain its status as "Canada's business centre."
The development at 333 Bay St. maintained the 80-year-old facade of the National Building that once stood on the site. The tower's retail concourse is set to open next month. Staff
