A baby has the latest case of measles reported in the Edmonton area.

That brings the number of cases in the city to five, with 20 cases having been reported across Alberta.

The infant, who is less than a year old, would have been too young to be immunized.

Health officials say the case stems from a flight from Vancouver that arrived in Edmonton on April 9.

Dr. Marcia Johnson says complications can occur more frequently in infants, though there is no word on whether this baby has suffered complications.

Johnson says the majority of the people who have come down with the illness were not immunized.
