Three teenagers were killed and a flag person was critically injured after a four-vehicle crash at a construction zone on Highway 6.

Police say the crash happened on Sunday afternoon near Spalding, about 200 kilometres east of Saskatoon.

The teens, who are 14 to 17, were in a white Chevrolet Cavalier when a semi-tractor trailer collided with the car from behind.

The car hit a Dodge truck in front, which struck a 21-year-old flag person, who was flown to hospital in Saskatoon.

The truck crossed the highway and struck a construction vehicle, causing both vehicles to end up in a ditch.

Police say the drivers of the truck and construction vehicle suffered minor injuries and have been released from hospital.

Police say they aren't releasing the names of the teens who were killed at the request of their families.

They say no charges have been laid and the scene has been cleared.
