Hamilton man charged in apartment stabbing Add to ...

A Hamilton man has been arrested and another man is recovering in hospital after an overnight stabbing in the city.

Police say officers were called to an apartment (on Grant Avenue) at about 3 a.m. Tuesday after getting a call about a stabbing.

It’s alleged that two men got into an altercation in the apartment’s kitchen and one of the men stabbed the other with a knife.

Other people in the apartment fled and called police.

A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Michael Lavelle, 32, is charged with aggravated assault.
