RCMP in Kelowna, B.C., have arrested a man in connection with threats made against a WestJet flight that had just arrived from Edmonton and was heading to Calgary.

Kelowna airport spokeswoman Jenelle Hynes says a man phoned the airport with a threat specifically directed toward the flight to Calgary.

She would not provide details about the threat and says police took the man into custody at the airport.

Hynes says the plane was parked away from the terminal and passengers who'd arrived from Edmonton were transported to the main building on a bus.

She says they waited nearly two hours to retrieve their luggage.

RCMP did not immediately return calls seeking information about the arrest.
