Treacherous driving conditions and school closings are being reported across the Maritimes on Thursday as the region cleans up after a big storm and braces for another one tonight. Weather warnings have been issued for much of the region and Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • New Brunswick: Winter storm warnings have been issued for the province’s south, where 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is in the forecast; an extreme cold warning is in effect for northern New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia: Snowfall warnings have been issued for the eastern shore, counties near the Bay of Fundy and Cape Breton
  • Prince Edward Island: Up to 20 centimetres of snow is in the forecast
  • Newfoundland: The entire island has been warned to expected a messy mix of heavy snow in the west, and high winds and rain in the east
