A Mountie is recovering after being shot by another officer while responding to a weapons complaint.

RCMP say the two officers were at an apartment complex Saturday when one of them fired his weapon, hitting the other.

The wounded officer was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The RCMP say its Major Crimes Unit from Edmonton is investigating.

Police say a 22-year-old man at the apartment was arrested and faces charges of uttering threats, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
