The Canadian Red Cross says about a dozen people have been displaced after fires in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

The organization says a man and his son lost their house and belongings in a blaze overnight Saturday near New Glasgow, N.S.

A fire early Sunday morning in Sydney, N.S., has left a woman and her 14-year-old son without a home.

In Dieppe, N.B., a blaze caused smoke and water damage to some units in an apartment building.

The Red Cross says no one was injured in any of the fires.
