RCMP cordon off a crime scene using police tapeJOHN LEHMANN

Police say a man in Barrie, Ont., was beaten up while allegedly trying to trade a hockey sweater for marijuana.

Police say the 18-year-old arranged the swap with two men, but when he showed up at a park to complete the deal Friday night, he was jumped from behind and struck in the face.

They say two suspects then grabbed his backpack, which contained a Chicago Blackhawks jersey.

It's alleged the suspects also yanked a sweater off the man's back and took off.

Police say he was treated in hospital for nose and face injuries and released.

They say the suspects have been identified and warrants are being sought.
