Ontario college lockdown lifted after original call to police Add to ...

The University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College have lifted a lockdown on campus that had been in place for nearly three hours Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the joint campus in north Oshawa, Ont. after receiving a call about an armed person on the premises.

While there is still an active investigation happening in Oshawa, “The campus is no longer part of our investigation,” said Sergeant Bill Calder.

“There’s no injuries so far, we have no confirmation so far that there is indeed an armed person but that original call obviously caused us concern,” he said.
