Police in Gatineau, Que., say a 20-year-old man arrested after an officer was shot in the leg isn't the one who wounded her.
Investigators say the man – who was arrested this morning while trying to leave an area cordoned off by police – isn't a suspect in the incident that occurred last night along the Gatineau River.
He remains in custody on unrelated charges while police continue their hunt for a suspect.
Police say the officer was responding to a call about a bush party involving nearly 20 people when she was struck by a bullet in the leg.
The officer has since undergone surgery and police say she is recovering.
Investigators briefly detained about 30 witnesses, who have been released.
