RCMP say they have arrested a third suspect in the violent assault of two workers at an addictions centre north of Winnipeg.

During the May 29 attack Jackie Healey, a 23-year-old work placement student, suffered a fractured skull, broken teeth and blindness in her left eye.

The other victim, a support worker at the facility, has extensive damage to her face, jaw and eye.

Two youths, aged 16 and 17, were charged late last month with aggravated assault and robbery.

Police say a third teen has been arrested and charged, but declined to provide further details.

The Manitoba government has said it will conduct a workplace safety investigation into the attack at the Behavioural Health Foundation in Selkirk.
