1. Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean admitted to making a sex tape for an ex-boyfriend during interviews this week to promote her new memoir, Still Standing. She went on to say it was a huge mistake, which it clearly was. It is also a boon to her prmotional efforts to sell her book. In subsequent interviews to promote her memoir, the former beauty queen threatened to walk off the set of Larry King Live, when host Larry allegedly acted "inappropriate". She didn't walk in the end, but it all became more fodder for the Prejean publicity machine. The video report was the most viewed video of the week on globeandmail.com (The Associated Press)
2. Comedian Stephen Colbert often pokes fun at Canada, but this time, it's personal. The talk show host and faux arch Conservative stepped in recently to sponsor the U.S. speedskating team when they lost their corporate sponsor. Colbert Nation is now emblazoned on the thighs of the American skaters. When the New York Times reported that the U.S. team is not getting enough training time at Richmond B.C.'s Olympic speed skating oval, Colbert raised hay with charges of cheating. (The Canadian Press)
3. This short edited clip from an NCAA women's soccer game between New Mexico and Brigham Young has brought infamy on the New Mexico Lobos women's soccer program after a player is shown punching, kicking and finally, hair-pulling during a conference playoff game. The player in question, Elizabeth Lambert has been villified, somewhat harshly some say, in that the video has been viewed by millions and online commentary has not been kind. Still, the ponytail pull, the likes of which surprised many for the sheer viciousness of it, is a shocking reminder that girls, like boys, are capable of crossing the line on the playing field. (The Associated Press)
4. A 26-year old woman stumbled and fell onto tracks in Boston just seconds before the arrival of an oncoming train. Waiting passengers began yelling and waving until the train conductor saw the woman and stopped just inches away. Truly amazing footage from many different surveillance camera angles. (The Associated Press)
5. From the bizarre to the sublime and back to the bizarre. The coach of the Louisiana IceGators of the minor-league Southern Professional Hockey League went wild in the middle of a game in Florida last week. A referee's call made Brent Sapergia so angry he threw several items, including a cooler and hockey sticks onto the ice. He was suspended from coaching indefinitely. (The Associated Press)
6. A screaming two-year old boy was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight upsetting her mom. The airline has since apologized. (The Associated Press)
7. Mike Tyson was arrested after a scuffle with a photographer when he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport this week. The former world heavyweight boxing champ allegedly hit the paparazzi about four times, it was reported. The boxer said that the photographer punched him first, which would make the photographer either really stupid or really confident. Either way, it is more bad news for the former Baddest Man on the Planet. (The Associated Press)
8. Women's soccer is the new roller-derby. Not really, but this is not been a good week for the beautiful game as practised by young women in the United States. A fight broke out among players at a state high school soccer championship game in Providence, R.I. It soon spread to fans in the stands. (The Associated Press)
9. Singer Rhianna told ABC's Diane Sawyer she feels ashamed about falling for Chris Brown and says she left him as an example to other young women who might be in abusive relationships. Good for her. (The Associated Press)
10 For the third week in a row, the worst parking job ever video appears in the weekly top 10, albeit in the No.10 position. This footage from a surveillance camera outside a Thornhill, Ont. Extreme Fitness capturing a driver's unfortunate parking mishap has drawn million of views on YouTube. (CP 24 video)
