Tanimura & Antle romaine lettuce recalled due to possible E. Coli contamination Add to ...

A recall has been issued for Tanimura & Antle brand romaine lettuce because of possible E. coli contamination.

The lettuce was imported from the United States and sold across most of Canada from August 8th to the 17th.

The recall affects packages bearing the U-P-C 0 27918 20314 9.

No reports of illness have been linked to the product, however, food contaminated with E. coli can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.

Symptoms include severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhoea.

Canadian distributors are voluntarily recalling the lettuce and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the recall.
