June 24: When Carter Keith was five months old, a daycare worker shook him so violently that he had to be admitted to hospital. Carter, now eleven, had an eleven-hour operation to repair his knees and required subsequent physiotherapy treatment. After the operation the family chose to receive Carter’s physiotherapy treatment at their home in Welland, Ontario instead of at a hospital further away. In the end they didn't receive the care promised to them and Christine had to stay at home, as well as have a nurse come in daily.
