Gatherings from the Pacific Rim

Globe and Mail Update
On November 3 at The Burroughes Building, chef Chris Mills from JOEY restaurant unveiled Gatherings from the Pacific Rim - a menu for his upcoming visit to the James Beard House in New York City. The menu featured Asian and North American influences with most ingredients harvested by Mills himself, like the Matsutake mushrooms from a secret mountainside spot and the lavender grown on his own rooftop garden. Highlights included the licorice lacquered wentzel duck breast and the peaches and cream chicken corndog appetizer. JOEY restaurant sommelier Dustin Dockendorff selected wines from the Pacific Rim to pair with each of Mills’ creations.
