Why Second World War veterans are no longer silent Add to ...

Andrew Cohen, historian and President of the Historica-Dominion Institute, explains why once-reluctant Second World War veterans are now ready to tell their stories. Mr. Cohen wrote the foreword to We Were Freedom: Canadian Stories of the Second World War. The book, published last month by Key Porter, features an introduction, conclusion, and section summaries by noted military historian Tim Cook, and highlights 65 of the more than 1,400 veteran profiles gathered by the Institute's Memory Project.
